For the pool, the resort and everything in between. You will live in these.
Beauty Hunter Loves: Carvela by Kurt Keiger Star Nude Flip Flops, $45.
Repeat after me. Do not pack heels for Bali – you will not wear them. The footpaths in Bali are horrendously dangerous with holes and puddles and poo and planks of wood over grates. Choose stylish, low wedges.
Beauty Hunter Loves: Seed Heritage Fran Flatform Espadrille, $129.99
A must – for shopping trips (the streets are very long) and you might want to catch a class at your resort or go for a cliff walk. Take a breathable pair that work for training and farshon aesthetic darlink!
Beauty Hunter Loves: Janey Trainer by Kathryn Wilson, $300.
In my experience (ahem) you don’t wear tops in Bali. Well not in your villa. You will need a top though at the many beachside pool bars such as Mrs Sippy and Potato Head in Seminyak and The Lawn, Canggu. No matter what your bottom size – pack a Brazilian cut and show off that tanned booty.
Beauty Hunter Loves: Moana Rise Above in Castaway, $80.
Eat, Pray, Love
If you haven’t read it, read it before you go. If you have read it already – read it by the pool. And seek out love in Ubud.
Flowing dresses, top knots and up styles, because of the heat require sexy, beachy hoop earrings.
Beauty Hunter Loves: Mimco Quick Dip Hoop Earrings, $79.95.
A dual-purpose swimming and training top is a must for your Bali packing edit. You can do yoga in the morning, swim then wear it with denim shorts bar hopping.
Beauty Hunter Loves: First Base Stadium Low Impact Bra, $75.
If you’re ever been to Bali, you’ll know that skirts and scooter riding don’t mix. If you’re heading out to dinner, a cute shorty playsuit is ideal with wedges and hoop earrings. Save drapey dresses for the resort.
Beauty Hunter Loves:
The humidity will make your perfume pop – pack sultry and sexy fragrances in miniature.
Beauty Hunter Loves: The Prada Miniatures Collection, $91.
When you’re walking along the streets of Seminyak you’ll need one hand for a green juice and one for browsing the shopping racks. A beautiful and functional backpack is a must with lots of pockets, a water bottle case and laptop space.
Beauty Hunter Loves: Mimco Splendiosa Backpack, $229.
You’ll want to pump up the tunes in your villa. Take a waterproof, portable speaker.
Beauty Hunter Loves: Ultimate Ears Roll Wireless Speaker, $99.
Buy in Bali
~ Sarongs … they are cheap and come in a myriad of fabrics. Haggle on the beach and get five sarongs for twenty dollars Australian. They will try to sell them for twenty bucks each!
~ Python Shoes and Clutch … Dyed snakeskin accessories, especially python, are a hot fashion buy in Bali. Vegans, look away.
~ Magali Pascal Anything … Paris-born designer Magali creates dreamy, sexy and easy-to-wear pieces. You’ll want leather pants and a floaty, feminine dress. And it’s cheaper in Seminyak than from her Paddington boutique.
~ Silver and Gold Jewellery … Bali has some of the best gold and silversmiths in the world. In fact, John Hardy set up shop in Ubud in 1989.
The majority of the best gold and silversmiths in Bali will be found in and around Celuk – 10km south of Ubud. The best artisans are tucked in and around the villages, not in the main road.
